Halloween Couples

The fact that Halloween is 4 days away makes me super happy. The fact that I don’t have an outfit yet, well….that freaks me out. But you wanna know what freaks me out even more? The crazy couples costumes that men will agree to. I’ve been looking at costumes for a few weeks now and the closest thing that I got to a yes from my boyfriend was the Popeye and Olive Oil idea. And let me repeat that….it was the closest thing to a yes, and a Popeye costume on a guy isn’t that bad. Here is a rundown of possibly the 10 worst couples Halloween costumes…Ever.

10. Red Riding Hood Couple

What man wakes up one day and says “Hmmm…I think I want to dress up like a wolf in a granny gown today.”  Some characters should just remain inside the book.

9. Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth the Bounty Hunter

I believe that the real version is scary enough.

8. Recycle Bin and Go Green Cheerleader

The concept of going green is forced down our throats every other day of the year…why can’t we just abandon it for one day?

7. Fred Flintstone and Pebbles

No explanation needed.

6. Teletubbies costumes

Any man who agrees to dress like a Teletubbie should also agree to hand over all signs of manhood.

5. Sugar Daddy and Sugar Babies

It’s only ok if you are being paid a large amount of money for endorsing the candy.

4. Bowling Ball and Pin

On the plus side, one of you gets to knock the other down.

3. Ketchup and Mustard

Almost too original.

2. Jon and Kate (minus the eight)

I can’t decide which is worse : Jon’s new “single Dad swagger” or Kate’s hair.

1. Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson

Pro: Samantha can pass as a guy or a gal. Con: Do you really want to be associated with such a train wreck?

So if you are one of the lucky girls whose significant other has agreed to the “couple costume” thing, there are tons of cute/fun costumes out there. Here are a few tips in finding the perfect costume.

1. Consider renting a costume. It’s very unlikely that you will wear the same costume again next year. Why spend so much money for just one night?
2. Search the thrift stores! This is especially helpful if you are going dressed as someone from a different time period, like Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. A few local thrift stores you may want to search: Twice as Nice, America’s Thrift Store, & The Salvation Army.
3. There is a great chance that some of your friends have old costumes stuffed in the back of their closets, and would love to see them revived. Check with your friends and have a costume trade.

Most importantly, remember that Halloween is meant to be fun, not stressful. Don’t let a ridiculous costume dispute with your significant other ruin your Halloween. Find something that you will both enjoy wearing and have fun with it!
